Brand Photography with New Braunfels based Revitalize Medspa
I had so much fun shooting a brand photography session with Revitalize Medspa in New Braunfels last week! Revitalize is a New Braunfels-based medspa owned by Janet Moeller. Before I ever picked up my camera, I spent some time getting to know the brand. I looked through Revitalize’s website and social media to see what was already working, what might be missing, and where professional brand photography could make the biggest impact.
One of the first things I noticed was that although Janet is very much the face of Revitalize, there weren’t many professional portraits of her. On the website, even the section introducing Janet featured a photo of her presenting to a group rather than looking directly at the camera.
For a founder-led business, that personal connection matters. People want to see the person they’re trusting—especially in an industry as personal as aesthetics. So I knew that creating a strong collection of branding portraits of Janet needed to be one of our priorities. We photographed her in several ways so she would leave with imagery she could use across her website, social media, advertising, press, and future marketing materials.
I also wanted to give Revitalize a fresh bank of social content. Medspa brand photography has become increasingly editorial, fashion-forward, and personality-driven. Rather than simply showing treatments, brands have an opportunity to create a visual world that feels current, aspirational, and distinct. So instead of spending the entire shoot creating traditional clinical imagery, we played.
We photographed Janet and her teammate, Lexie, interacting with each other, walking, laughing, putting on gloves, working with products, and generally showing some of the personality clients can expect when they walk through Revitalize’s doors. Then we pushed things a little further. We balanced a box of filler on a heel. Janet playfully posed with the Ellacor handpiece, and Lexie brought out heels and a briefcase featuring Morpheus8 branding. The product imagery stayed feminine and polished, but with enough humor and unexpected styling to make someone stop scrolling. That balance was really important to me.
There is enormous competition in the aesthetics industry, and clients aren’t only choosing between treatments. They’re choosing who they trust to perform them. The imagery needs to communicate expertise, but it also needs to make the people behind the business feel approachable, relevant, and memorable. That’s ultimately what I want a branding photography session to accomplish.
It isn’t simply about getting beautiful photographs of a business. It’s about looking at where the brand is now, understanding where it wants to go, and intentionally creating imagery that helps take it there. Fresh branding gives you an opportunity to reintroduce yourself, show the personality behind your business, and remind your audience that you’re invested in what you’re building. And when you’re asking clients to invest in you, that matters.
